A Szuezi-csatornát elzáró teherhajót sikerült szombaton megmozdítani, de nem lehet tudni, mikorra szabadítható ki – jelentették hírügynökségek tisztségviselők közlése alapján.
Az Ever Given nevű, panamai bejegyzésű konténerszállító kedd reggel fordult keresztbe a Földközi-tengert a Vörös-tengerrel összekötő csatorna déli végének közelében, egy szűk szakaszon, ahol egyszerre csak egy irányban közlekedhetnek a hajók. A balesetet az üzemeltető Soei Kiszen japán cég szerint az erős szél okozta – írja az MTI.
A 400 méter hosszú hajó kiszabadításán mások között a Boskalis nevű holland cég dolgozik vontató- és kotróhajók segítségével és a dagályok kihasználásával. Szombatra sikerült kiszabadítani az üledékből a hajó farát és kormánylapátját. A hajó orrának környékéről is már elkotortak mintegy 20 ezer tonna homokot, amely azonban még kevés. Ezenkívül a hajóból már kiszivattyúztak 9000 tonna ballasztvizet. További, nagyobb vontatóhajókat várnak a helyszínre vasárnap hajnalra, és arra számítanak, hogy vasárnap fél méterrel magasabb lesz a dagály, ami szintén segíthet. Peter Berdowski, a Boskalis vezérigazgatója a holland televíziónak nyilatkozva azt mondta: reményei szerint legkésőbb a jövő hét közepére sikerül kiszabadítani a hajót.
Oszama Rabi, a Szuezi-csatorna Hatóság elnöke sajtótájékoztatóján azonban úgy nyilatkozott: nem lehet tudni, mikorra szabadítható ki a hajó, de ez akár gyorsan is megtörténhet. Ő nem zárta ki, hogy a hajó keresztbe fordulását más is – például emberi mulasztás vagy műszaki hiba – okozta, mint az erős szél. Mint mondta, reméli, nem kell kirakni a hajó rakományából, bár erre is felkészültek: egy daru áll a parton. Akár csak 600 konténer kirakodása nagyon megnövelné az egész művelet hosszát. Ez arra késztethet várakozó hajókat, hogy másfele kerüljenek.
A hajó 18 300 konténert szállít. A csatorna két végén már összesen 321 hajó vár arra, hogy átkelhessen. A 193 kilométer hosszú csatornán halad át a tengeri világkereskedelem körülbelül 12 százaléka. Zavartalan forgalom esetén ez naponta mintegy 50 hajót jelent.

Keresztbe fordult és beszorult a világ egyik legnagyobb teherhajója kedden a Szuezi csatornában, feltartva az áruforgalmat a kulcsfontosságú kelet-nyugati vízi úton – erősítette meg szerdán a Financial Times című lapnak a hajót üzemeltető vállalat, a tajvani Evergreen Marine.
A hajókövető műholdas szolgáltatók adatainak tanúsága szerint az Ever Given nevű konténerszállító óriás kedd reggel keresztbe fordult és partra futott az Egyiptomot átszelő szűk vízi út déli végének közelében. Vontatóhajók tesznek most kétségbeesett kísérleteket a kiszabadítására.
Egyelőre nem tudni, mi okozta a balesetet, amely miatt a konténerszállító blokkolja a forgalmat, nagy számban feltorlódtak mögötte a hajók. Az Evergreen szerdán azt közölte, hogy hajójuk kedd reggel úszott be a Vörös-tenger felől a Szuezi-csatornába.
„Mintegy hat tengeri mérföldre a csatorna déli végétől a hajót feltehetően egy váratlan erős széllökés érte, ez eltérítette a menetirányától, amely így véletlenül partra futott” – pontosította a történteket az Evergreen Marine.
A MarineTraffic.com. hajókövető alkalmazás adatainak tanúsága szerint a konténerszállító orrésze a csatorna keleti falának szorult, fara pedig beékelődött a nyugati oldalába.
A Földközi-tengert a Vörös-tengerrel és Ázsiával összekötő, 1869-ben elkészült 120 mérföld hosszú csatornán naponta mintegy 50 hajó halad át, amikor zavartalan a forgalom.

Robbanás történt egy izraeli teherhajón az Ománi-öbölben pénteken, ami újabb aggályokat vetett fel a közel-keleti tengeri hajózás biztonságát illetően.
A brit haditengerészet kereskedelmi hajózást felügyelő műveleti csoportja szerint a teherhajó és legénysége biztonságban vannak. A robbanás ugyanakkor arra késztette a kapitányt, hogy a legközelebbi kikötő felé vegye az irányt.
A tengeri hajózás biztonságával foglalkozó Dryad Global vállalat szerint a bahamai zászló alatt hajózó Helios Ray nevű teherhajóról van szó. A Dryad Global szerint bár a történtek háttere egyelőre még nem világos, nagyon valószínű, hogy a robbanás az iráni hadsereg tevékenységéhez köthető.
Az ENSZ hajózási adatbázisa szerint a jármű tulajdonosa a tel-avivi székhelyű Ray Shipping cég. A Bahreinben állomásozó amerikai ötödik flotta szűkszavú közleményében tudatta, hogy tisztában van a helyzettel, és figyeli az eseményeket, de egyéb részletet nem tárt fel.
A hajózás biztonságát Irán és a nyugati országok, különösen az Egyesült Államok és Nagy-Britannia között kialakult feszültség veszélyezteti a Perzsa(Arab)-öbölben és az öböl egyetlen vízi kijáratánál, a Hormuzi-szorosban, ahol a világ olajszállítmányainak ötöde áthalad. Az Egyesült Királyság 2019-ben két hadihajót küldött a térségbe, mert iráni erők lefoglaltak egy brit tankert.
Az utóbbi időben több támadás is történt a fontos hajózási útvonalon. Washington Iránt vádolja a térségben kereskedelmi hajók ellen elkövetett támadásokkal, amit Teherán tagad.

Csak néhány részlet tudható arról a meghökkentő tengeri incidensről, mely a források szerint még a múlt hónap végén történt: egy elégedetlen biztonsági őr három napig fogva tartotta egy teherhajó legénységét, és eltérítette a hatalmas járművet.
Alig néhány részletet árult el a tőzsdén is jegyzett Eagle Bulk nevű, tengeri teherszállítással foglalkozó nagyvállalat arról az esetről, ami a Jaeger nevű, ömlesztett árut szállító hajójukon még július végén történt. Eszerint a hatalmas jármű az Indiai-óceánon haladt a Vörös-tenger irányába, fedélzetén három fegyveres biztonsági őrrel. Az őröket az iparági ajánlásoknak megfelelően, a magas biztonsági kockázatot jelentő térségen való áthaladás miatt bérelte fel a hajóüzemeltető.
A protokoll szerint a fedélzeten tartózkodó őrök a fegyvereiket a kapitánynak adják át, ha azokra épp nincs szükségük. A háromból az egyik őr azonban ezt egy alkalommal nem tette meg, hanem magánál tartva azt, átvette a hajó irányítását, és lényegében eltérítette azt.
A jármű azután már nem haladt tovább a tervezett ütemben és a legénységnek azt kellett tennie, amit a fegyveres őr mondott – tájékoztatott a cég.
Kiderült, hogy a biztonsági őr végső elkeseredettségében tette, amit tett. Kiderült ugyanis, hogy az a magán biztonsági szolgáltató, amely őt alkalmazta, már hónapok óta nem folyósította fizetését, így a férfi a túszejtéssel akarta kikényszeríteni elmaradt bérét. Azt szerette volna elérni, hogy járandósága mellett, kompenzációt is kapjon a késői kifizetésért.
Az ügy sok részlete még nem tisztázott, az Eagle Bulk nem is tagadta, hogy törekedtek arra, a nyilvánosság ne értesüljön addig a hajón történekről, amíg az események le nem zárulnak. A cégnél közölték, tengerbiztonsági szakértők is azt tanácsolták nekik, a közvéleményt addig ne tájékoztassák az esetről, amíg az meg nem oldódik.
Erre végül három nap után került sor, amikor az őr hajlandó volt átadni fegyverét, és a hajó folytathatta útját az eredeti útvonalon.
A vállalatnál kiemelték, hogy a fegyveres őr nem okozott senkinek semmilyen sérülést, és nem viselkedett erőszakosan a legénység egyetlen tagjával szemben sem, sőt, folyamatos volt a kapcsolattartás a hajó és a hatóságok, illetve a legénység tagjai és azok családtagjai között. A másik két biztonsági őr nem vett részt társuk akciójában.
A hajót üzemeltető cég elismerését fejezte ki a kapitánynak és a legénység tagjainak, mert az események alatt megőrizték higgadtságukat, így miután az őr hajlandó volt átadni fegyverét, a hajó folytathatta útját. A vállalat ugyanakkor további részleteket egyelőre nem akar nyilvánosságra hozni a kínos ügyről.

Az ausztrál tengeri biztonsági hivatalhoz (AMSA) több bejelentés is érkezett arról, hogy a dél-ausztrál partokon Magenta Beach és The Entrance nevű település között szokatlan dolgokat vetett partra az óceán.
A szájmaszkok mellett építőanyagokat, illetve orvosi eszközöket is találtak.
