Tűzoltók küzdenek a lángokkal az északkeleti Iwate prefektúrában, már katonai helikoptereket is vezényeltek a tűz oltására. A lángok Ofunato város egyes részein tovább terjednek. Tahama negyedben a tűz annak a helynek a közelében ég, ahol múlt szerdán erdőtűz keletkezett, de később a hírek szerint sikerült megfékezni – írja az NHK Worls Japan.
A tűz több mint 80 épületet pusztított el, és mintegy 2000 lakost kényszerültek evakuálni.
A hatóságok szerint szerda este hét óráig 526 embert sikerült menhelyeken elhelyezni. Félő, hogy a tűz még tovább terjed majd az erősödő szél miatt, ami már elérte a 65 kilométer/órás sebességet.
A BBC szerint a helyi illetékesek a szokatlanul száraz télnek és az erős szeleknek tulajdonítják a tűz keletkezésének okát.
Japán egyes területein hóvihar miatt adtak ki figyelmeztetést hétfőn. A két héttel ezelőtti heves havazások után újabb nagy hóesésre, lavinákra és közlekedési fennakadásokra figyelmeztetett a japán meteorológiai szolgálat. A hótömegek már most hatalmasak: a meteorológiai szolgálat szerint
az északi Aomori városban helyi idő szerint hétfő reggel ötméteres havat mértek.

Szantorini térségében ismét erős földrengés volt, amely tovább fokozza a lakosság aggodalmát. A hatóságok elővigyázatossági intézkedéseket vezettek be, miközben több ezer ember hagyta el a szigetet.
Erős, 5,2-es magnitúdójú földrengés rázta meg a görögországi Amorgosz és Szantorini szigetek közötti térséget helyi idő szerint szerda este 21:09-kor.
Ez volt az elmúlt napok legerősebb földmozgása.
A földmozgást két kisebb előrengés előzte meg, és folyamatos utórengések kísérik – számolt be róla a BBC.
Több ezer ember menekült el Szantoriniről, miután folyamatos földrengések rázták meg a görög szigetet. A turisták, a lakosok és az ott dolgozók folyamatosan hagyják el a görög szigetet, tartanak a nagyobb földrengésektől. Közülük mintegy 7 000-en kompokkal, 4 000-en pedig repülővel távoztak.
Bár jelentős károkról nem érkezett jelentés, a hatóságok óvintézkedéseket hoztak és fokozott készenlétben vannak. Szantorini évente több millió turistát fogad, de a jelenlegi főszezonban az evakuáltak többsége helyi lakos és ott dolgozó munkavállaló.
Az oktatási intézmények Szantorinin és több szomszédos szigeten – köztük Anafin, Pároszon, Naxoszon és Mykonoszon – péntekig zárva maradnak.
A hatóságok ezt követően döntenek az iskolák újranyitásáról.
A görög éghajlat- és polgári védelmi miniszter, Vassilis Kikilias közölte, hogy a természeti katasztrófák kezelésére specializált tűzoltóegységek érkeztek a szigetre. A csapatok között speciálisan kiképzett keresőkutyák és egy mobil műveleti központ is helyet kapott, miközben helikopterek állnak készenlétben szükség esetére.
A görög parti őrség és a fegyveres erők is mozgósításra kerültek, hogy segítsenek az evakuációban.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis görög miniszterelnök a polgári védelmi szakértőkkel tartott találkozóján nyugalomra intette a lakosságot. Hangsúlyozta, hogy minden szükséges intézkedést végrehajtottak, és az állam továbbra is a tudományra és a szakértőkre támaszkodik a helyzet kezelésében.
Megértem a folyamatos rengések miatti aggodalmat. Naponta értékeljük a helyzetet, és minden lehetséges eshetőségre felkészültünk. A lakosságot arra kérem, maradjanak nyugodtak, és működjenek együtt a hatóságokkal – mondta Mitsotakis.

Tovább folyik a lakosság evakuálása Donyeck megyéből. Az orosz–ukrán háború utóbbi napjaiban felerősödtek a harcok a keleti fronton, az orosz hadsereg egy nap alatt 2500 lövedékkel 16 települést támadott.
Donyeck megye Ukrajna által kontrollált térségében körülbelül 304 ezer civil tartózkodik – tájékoztatott Jurij Vinokurov, a megyei állami közigazgatás vezetőjének helyettese. Mint elmondta, a megszállók egy nap leforgása alatt legalább 16 település vettek tűz alá, összesen mintegy 2500 lövedéket zúdítottak a térségre, melyek közül nem sikerült mindet hatástalanítani. A támadásoknak több civil halottja és sebesültje van.
Vinokurov hozzátette, hogy a nehéz körülmények ellenére továbbra is zajlik a polgári lakosság evakuálása. Adatai szerint egy nap alatt 232 lakost sikerült kimenteni. A Korrespondent értesülése szerint több településen folytatódik a gyereket nevelő családok kötelező evakuálása.

Januárban már ezernél is több alkalommal szórt hamut a kelet-indonéziai Ibu vulkán – közölte a délkelet-ázsiai ország földtani intézete, hozzátéve, hogy a Maluku-szigetcsoport Halmahera szigetén található tűzhányó vasárnap is kitört, 1,5 kilométer magas füstoszlopot eregetve az égbe.
A tájékoztatás szerint a hamuszórás közepestől erős intenzitásig terjedt, a szürke füst pedig délnyugati irányba terjedt. Emellett hangos morajlást lehetett hallani az Ibunál felállított földtani megfigyelőállomásoknál. A tűzhányó csak vasárnap 17 alkalommal mutatott aktivitást.
Az Ibu egyike a legaktívabb vulkánoknak Indonéziában. Szerdán mintegy 4 kilométer magas füstoszlop kígyózott a tűzhányóból. Az indonéz hatóságok haladéktalanul a legmagasabb fokú riasztást adták ki és elrendelték a környező hat falu összesen 3000 lakójának evakuálását. Vasárnapig azonban csak 517-en hagyták el a legközelebbi települést, sokan ugyanis nem akarnak elmenni arra hivatkozva, hogy éppen a termésbetakarítás ideje van. A hatóságok ennek ellenére igyekeznek meggyőzni az embereket a falvak kiürítésének szükségességéről. Hivatalos adatok szerint Halmaherának több mint 700 ezer lakosa van. A vulkanikus aktivitás tavaly június óta jelentős növekedést mutat.
Az indonéziai szigetvilágban gyakoriak a földmozgások és vulkánkitörések, mert az ország a csendes-óceáni „tűzgyűrűn” fekszik. Celebesz szigetének északi részén tavaly a Ruang tűzhányó lépett működésbe, a szomszédos szigetek több ezer lakóját kellett kimenekíteni.

Az incidens miatt Monterey megye vezetése vészhelyzeti tanácskozást hívott össze.

Kiürítették a NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratoryt az egyre közeledő erdőtüzek miatt. A szakemberek szerint nem történt komolyabb adatvesztés, mialatt átmeneti központba helyeztek át fontos műveleteket.
A NASA-t is elérték a Dél-Kaliforniában pusztító erdőtüzek, legalábbis néhány megelőző intézkedést az amerikai űrhivatalnak is eszközölnie kellett. Január 8-án például evakuálni kellett a Pasadena városában lévő Jet Propulsion Laboratoryt (JPL), mely a NASA egyik legfontosabb űrkutatási központja.
A központot eddig megkímélték a lángok, de a vészhelyzeti intézkedés zavart okozott a JPL adatfeldolgozásában. Jó hír azonban, hogy a Deep Space Network nevű, óriási rádióantennákból álló rendszer tartani tudta a kapcsolatot az összes aktív űreszközével – dacára a földi történéseknek.
Laurie Leshin, a központ igazgatója az X-en azt írta: a JPL sértetlen, de a közösségüket komolyan érintette a tűz. Több mint 150 dolgozójuk veszítette el az otthonát, és még többen költöztek el. Mint a Gizmodo kiemeli a JPL egy szövetségileg finanszírozott űrkutatási laboratórium, melyet a Kaliforniai Műszaki Egyetem (Caltech) irányít a NASA megbízásából.
Ez a központ az otthona a már említett Deep Space Network (DSN) rádióantenna-hálózatnak is, mely az űrmissziók kommunikációjáért felel. Ehhez kapcsolódnak a Voyager-szondák és a Marson lévő eszközök is.
A Jet Propulsion Laboratory a NASA szerint 1964 óta működik, és minden nap tartózkodott ott személyzet.
Ezt a szériát szakította most meg a pusztító erdőtűz. A pillanatnyilag üres központ DSN-feladatait átmenetileg egy tartalék műveleti központba helyezték át, írja a Space.com. Bár a csapat mindent megtett annak érdekében, hogy ne történjen adatvesztés, néhány adatfeldolgozási zavar elkerülhetetlen volt az evakuálás során – ezek azonban nem voltak súlyosak.

A kelet-németországi Drezda belvárosának egy részét csütörtök reggel kiürítették egy második világháborús brit bomba miatt, amelyet a Carola-híd építési munkálatai során fedeztek fel. Az evakuálás mintegy 10 ezer embert érint, akik a történelmi óváros negyedében élnek és dolgoznak – tudósított a de.com.
A bombát a Carola-híd közelében találták, amely tavaly szeptemberben részben az Elba folyóba omlott. A híd jelentős része 2024. szeptember 11-én kora reggel dőlt össze.
A tűzszerészek a robbanótest eltávolítására készültek, ami szükségessé tette a környék kiürítését.
A bombát a híd javítási munkálatainak megkezdésekor fedezték fel.
Ez nem az első alkalom, hogy a Carola-híd károsodást szenved. Az eredetileg 1895-ben épült hidat 1945 májusában a német hadsereg szándékosan felrobbantotta, hogy megállítsa a szovjet előrenyomulást. A jelenlegi hidat 1967 és 1971 között építették újjá.
Drezda történelmében jelentős szerepet játszottak a második világháborús bombázások. A város több légitámadás célpontja volt, köztük az 1945 februárjában végrehajtott hírhedt bombázás, amely során a szövetségesek 4000 bombát dobtak le. Ez a támadás romba döntötte a városközpontot és mintegy 25 000 ember halálát okozta.

A Canyon Crest-i tűz, amely a 60-as autópályától délre, a Canyon Crest Drive közelében pusztít Riverside megyében, csütörtök este 8 órakor lobbant fel. Péntekre már 254 hektárnyi területet emésztett fel a tűzvész, komoly aggodalmat keltve a helyi lakosság körében.
A Cal Fire közleménye szerint „nagyszámú tűzoltó jármű, legénység, buldózerek és éjszakai bevetésre alkalmas, víz szállítására képes helikopterek segítették a tűz elfojtását tegnap”. A tűzoltók egész éjszaka dolgoztak a lángok megfékezésén, amit jócskán nehezítettek a terepviszonyok, a gyúlékony növényzet és a keleti irányú szél.
A The Independent beszámolója szerint a hatóságok evakuálási figyelmeztetéseket adtak ki Riverside megye egyes részeire, beleértve a 60-as autópályától északra, a County Village Roadtól keletre, a Riverside/San Bernardino megyehatártól délre és a Sierra Avenue-tól nyugatra eső területeket. Pénteken délután azonban a Cal Fire bejelentette, hogy Jurupa Valley-re vonatkozóan feloldották a figyelmeztetéseket.
A tűzoltók megfeszített munkájának köszönhetően a tűz 15 százalékát sikerült körülhatárolni. A Cal Fire közleménye szerint a tűzoltók az éjszaka folyamán is a helyszínen maradnak, hogy tovább erősítsék a védelmi vonalakat.
A helyi lakosokat arra kérik, hogy kövessék figyelemmel a hivatalos közleményeket és legyenek felkészülve az esetleges evakuálásra. A hatóságok hangsúlyozzák, hogy a gyors reagálás és az elővigyázatosság életeket menthet ilyen vészhelyzetekben.
Miközben a tűzoltók folytatják heroikus küzdelmüket a lángokkal, a közösség összefogása és támogatása kulcsfontosságú lehet a vészhelyzet sikeres kezelésében.

Sajtóértesülések szerint egyelőre nem részletezett biztonsági incidens következtében megkezdték a Gatwick repülőtér déli termináljának evakuálását, miközben az Egyesült Királyság második legforgalmasabb repülőtere részleges lezárás alatt áll. A helyszínen szünetel a vonat- és buszforgalom, az utasokat pedig arra kérik, hogy halasszák el utazásukat.
A repülőtér vezetése közleményben jelezte, hogy az incidens hátterének vizsgálata folyamatban van. A biztonsági intézkedések részeként a Gatwick Express vonatai sem közlekednek a reptér felé, az északi terminál ugyanakkor változatlanul működik.
A BBC szerint a Gatwick repülőtér kiemelte, az utasok és a személyzet biztonsága a legfontosabb, hangsúlyozva, hogy minden lehetséges lépést megtesznek a probléma mielőbbi megoldása érdekében.
A közösségi médiában terjedő videókon és fotókon az evakuálás alatt álló utasok tömegei láthatók, ahogy távolodnak a déli termináltól. Szemtanúk szerint még azokat az utasokat is kikísérték a reptér területéről, akik már átestek a biztonsági ellenőrzésen. A közlekedési leállások miatt emberek ezrei torlódtak fel az utcákon és parkolókban.
Az utasokat, akik a kapuk közelében tartózkodnak, arra kérték, hogy ne térjenek vissza a váróterembe, s maradjanak a jelenlegi helyükön. A repülőtér vezetősége arra szólította fel az utazókat, hogy lehetőség szerint halasszák el útjukat legalább a reggeli órákig, amíg a hatóságok kivizsgálják az eseményeket. A terminál és a pályaudvar kiürítése jelenleg is zajlik.
