Összeomlott két lakóépület a marokkói Fez városában szerdára virradóra, legkevesebb 19-en meghaltak és 16 sérültről is tudni – közölték helyi hatóságok.
A tájékoztatás szerint a két négyszintes épületben összesen nyolc család lakott, néhány sérült állapota súlyos.
A házomlás a város sűrűn lakott, zömében rozoga épületekből álló Zouága nevű körzetében történt. Szemtanúk a sajtónak azt mondták, a környékbeliek még a hatóságok kiérkezése előtt megkezdték a mentést, és egy gyereket ki is húztak a romok alól.
Az ügyben nyomozás indult, a helyi sajtó pedig hatósági forrásokra hivatkozva azt közölte, hogy vizsgálják az építkezési szabályok esetleges megszegését, illetve az építési engedélyeket is.

Egyelőre nem ismeretes, hogy a leromlott állapotú ház miért omlott részben össze az éjszaka folyamán, de a területen előzőleg heves esőzés volt. A hatóságok szerint 13 család, összesen 54 ember élt a háromemeletes épületben.
A belügyminisztérium szerint a két, 40 és 23 éves tűzoltó az első omlás után érkezett a helyszínre, de bekövetkezett egy második omlás is, amely maga alá temette őket. Egy harmadik áldozat, egy 79 éves férfi holttestét is megtalálták a romok alatt.
Kubában sok ház és az infrastruktúra más részei is rossz állapotban vannak, mert évtizedek óta nem, vagy csak rögtönzött módon tartják karban őket. Legutóbb múlt csütörtökön halt meg egy férfi, amikor Havanna központjában leszakadt egy lakás mennyezete.
