Sztrájkra szólították fel az Amazon dolgozóit világszerte, hogy az év egyik legforgalmasabb vásárlási napján gyakoroljanak nyomást a vállalatra. A sztrájkfelhívást megfogalmazó Make Amazon Pay kezdeményezés több mint 30 országban tervez munkabeszüntetést, jobb fizetést követelve – írja a Reuters.
A németországi Verdi szakszervezet közölte, hogy az ország tíz raktárában terveznek sztrájkot. Az érdekvédelmi szervezet szerint az akcióval azt akarják elérni, hogy az Amazon ismerje el a kiskereskedelmi és csomagküldő kereskedelmi ágazatban kötött kollektív szerződéseket, valamint jobb munkakörülményeket követelnek.
Az Amazon munkáltatóként versenyképes fizetést, juttatásokat és fejlődési lehetőségeket kínál, mindezt vonzó és biztonságos munkakörnyezetben – áll a németországi Amazon közleményében. A cég szóvivője szerint szeptembertől béremelést hajtottak végre a logisztikai alkalmazottak számára, így a kezdő bér mostantól 13 euró. Péntek reggel a vállalat közölte, hogy az alkalmazottak túlnyomó többsége a megszokott rend szerint dolgozik, a sztrájk a 20 németországi raktárból kilencet érint.
A Verdi arról számolt be, hogy 2500 munkavállaló vesz részt az akcióban.
A franciaországi SUD és CGT szakszervezet szintén munkabeszüntetésre szólított fel az ország nyolc raktárában. A francia Amazon szóvivője elmondta, hogy minden olyan raktári dolgozó, aki havi 3100 eurónál kevesebbet keres, egyszeri 500 eurós bónuszt kap, a szakszervezettel megállapodott 150 eurós év végi bónuszon felül. Hozzátette, hogy eddig nem volt jele a működés zavarának.
Két, neve elhallgatását kérő francia szakszervezeti tisztségviselő azt mondta az amerikai hírügynökségnek, hogy nem számítanak nagy részvételre, mivel az emelkedő megélhetési költségek miatt az alkalmazottak túlórázni kényszerülnek.
A Verdi egyik vezetője közölte, ez az első alkalom, hogy az Amazon nemzetközi sztrájkkal néz szembe, ami azért fontos, mert egy nagy világcéggel nem lehet csak helyi, regionális vagy nemzeti szinten szembeszállni. A közösségi médiából származó információk szerint kisebb munkabeszüntetésekre, tüntetésekre sor került más európai, amerikai és ázsiai városokban is.

A hatóságok sajnos nem látnak reményt arra, hogy további túlélőkre bukkanhatnak a romok alatt, ezért már az eltakarításra koncentrálnak.
Néhányan az Amazon szemére vetik, amiért a tornádóriasztás dacára nem küldte haza munkavállalóit. A cég állítása szerint minden alkalmazottat értesítettek a helyzetről, és kérték, hogy vonuljanak át az óvóhelyként megjelölt épületrészbe. Ezt elvileg gyakorolták is mind a régi, mind az új alkalmazottakkal az év folyamán. Többen állítják azonban, hogy a raktárban dolgozó ismerőseiket váratlanul érte a tornádó, ott kellett valamiféle menedéket keresniük, ahol épp voltak, például a mosdókban. Az Iszlám Állam volt az a csoport, amely magára vállalta az afgán főváros, Kabul repülőterénél csütörtökön történt robbantásos merénylet elkövetését, amelyben több tucat – egyes hírek szerint közel 170 – ember vesztette életét vagy sebesült meg. Az amerikai védelmi minisztérium (Pentagon) közlése szerint a merényletben 13 amerikai katona lelte halálát, további 18 megsebesült. Az Iszlám Államnak az AWS-en található tartalmát a terrorista kommunikációt weboldalakon nyomon követő amerikai SITE hírszerzési csoport (SITE Intelligence Group) fedezte fel – közölte Rita Katz, a SITE igazgatója a The Washington Post beszámolója szerint. A lap szerint az említett dzsihadista oldal csütörtökön fényképet közölt robbanómellényt viselő állítólagos terroristáról a kabuli merénylet előtt. Katz elmondása szerint a csoport április óta használta az AWS-t, és pénteken kapcsolták le.

A luxemburgi nemzeti adatvédelmi bizottság szerint a személyes adatok kezelése tekintetében az Amazon nem felelt meg az európai általános adatvédelmi rendeletnek (GDPR), ezért a céget 746 millió eurós bírsággal sújtotta.
A bírságot két hete szabta ki a luxemburgi adatvédelmi szabályozó szerv (CNPD), és egyúttal elrendelte az Amazon erre vonatkozó üzleti gyakorlatának felülvizsgálatát is.
Az Amazon, amelynek európai központja Luxemburgban van, tagadta, hogy bármiféle olyan szabálysértés történt volna, amely sértené a GDPR szabályait.
„Ügyfeleink információinak és bizalmának fenntartása a legfontosabb prioritás” – mondta az Amazon szóvivője a CNBC-nek.
„Nem történt adatsértés, és egyetlen ügyféladatot sem adtak ki harmadik félnek” – tették hozzá.
A cég határozottan nem ért egyet a CNPD döntésével, és fellebbezést helyezett kilátásba.
A CNPD vizsgálata még 2018 -ban kezdődött, miután a francia La Quadrature du Net adatvédelmi jogvédő csoport feljelentést tett az Amazon ellen.
Míg a bírság első hallásra hatalmasnak tűnhet, a cég pénzügyeiben viszonylag aprócska tételnek számít, tekintve, hogy az Amazon bevétele éves szinten 27 százalékkal, 113,08 milliárd dollárra nőtt.

Kritikus döntési szempontot jelentenek a vevői értékelések az internetes áruházakban, így komplett iparág épült a hamis vélemények igény szerinti biztosítására. A SafetyDetectives biztonsági cég nemrég rábukkant egy védetlen szerverre az interneten, rajta egy hamis amazonos értékeléseket nyújtó vállalkozás több gigabájtnyi információjával, de azonosítania sajnos nem sikerült az elkövetőt – olvasható az Origó cikkében.
Az adatok alapján a cég körülbelül 200 ezer hamis értékeléseket adó személlyel rendelkezik a világ minden pontján. Úgy működik az üzlete, hogy a kiváló értékeléseket vásárolni kívánó eladók leadják a rendelésüket, hogy melyik termékre és mennyi hamis értékelést kérnek. A vállalkozás ezután felkéri az adatbázisában szereplő együttműködők egy részét, hogy vásárolják meg az Amazonon a kérdéses terméket, a megérkezése után pár nappal pedig írjanak hozzá ötcsillagos értékelést.
Végül a csalásban közreműködőknek igazolniuk kell a vásárlást és az értékelés otthagyását, ha pedig minden rendben van, akkor az amazonos eladó a PayPalen keresztül visszatéríti nekik a vásárlásuk árát.
A kapott terméket megtarthatják, az a fizetségük a munkáért.
A sémát nagyon hatékonnyá teszi, hogy az Amazonnak teljesen legitimnek tűnnek a vásárlások és az értékelések, a pénzvisszatérítés pedig a látókörén kívül történik. A csalás hátulütője, hogy csak kisebb értékű termékek esetén használható, különben túlságosan sokba kerülnének a hamis értékelések az eladóknak.

Az Európai Bíróság szerdai ítéletében elutasította az Európai Bizottság 2017-es döntését, miszerint az Amazon óriásvállalatnak nyújtott luxemburgi adókedvezmények tiltott állami támogatásnak minősülnek, így nem fogadta el a testület kérvényét arra vonatkozólag sem, hogy az amerikai cég 250 millió dollárt fizessen vissza a nagyhercegségnek.
Az uniós versenyhatóságként eljáró Európai Bizottság 2014-ben indított vizsgálatot annak megállapítására, hogy sérti-e a szabad versenyt a nagyvállalat és a luxemburgi adóhatóság közötti 2003-ban köttetett és 2011-ben meghosszabbított adómegállapodás. A testület véleménye szerint az egyezséggel a cég kikerülte az uniós értékesítéséből származó nyereségének háromnegyedére vonatkozó adóterhek megfizetését.
2017 októberében a bizottság azt a döntést hozta, hogy az adómegállapodás tiltott állami támogatásnak minősül, és a kereskedelmi nagyvállalatot 250 millió dollár (mintegy 78 milliárd forint) visszafizetésére kötelezte. Az Amazon, Luxemburggal együtt, keresetet indított az uniós bíróságnál e határozat megsemmisítése végett, mivel vitatták a bizottság tisztességtelen versenyhelyzet előállására vonatkozó érvelését.
Az uniós bíróság szerdán hozott ítélete szerint az Európai Bizottság nem bizonyította jogi szempontból kellő mértékben, hogy Luxemburg indokoltalanul csökkentette volna az Amazon adóterheit. Kimondták, hogy a brüsszeli testület több hibát is elkövetett a vizsgálatok során, így nem alátámasztható érvelése, miszerint az Amazon az adóegyezmény miatt tisztességtelen versenyelőnyt élvezett.
Az óriásvállalat üdvözölte a bíróság határozatát. „Az ítélet alátámasztja régóta fennálló álláspontunkat: cégünk nem sértett törvényt és nem részesült különleges bánásmódban” – jelentette ki Connor Sweeney, az Amazon luxemburgi leányvállalatának igazgatója.

Virginia államban, Richmond városában egy biztonsági kamera vette fel, hogy az Amazon dolgozójának öltözött tolvaj egy lakóház verandájáról lopja el a csomagokat.
A kamera felvételein látszik, hogy a cég arculati elemeit mutató ruhában lévő tolvaj egy feltehetőleg üres dobozt vitt az egyik házhoz, amelyet letett, majd az ott lévő három csomagot felkapta és elviszi, majd azokat egy kék furgonba rakta, nem messze a háztól.
Az Amazon szóvivője a 8News hírcsatornának elmondta, hogy az elkövetők nem a vállalat dolgozói, hiszen egy sem tartózkodott a környéken a bűncselekmény elkövetésének időpontjában.
Az egyik helyi lakos elmondta, hogy az utóbbi időszakban megszaporodtak a hasonló esetek a környéken. Nem csak Richmondban számoltak be Amazonos dolgozónak öltözött tolvajokról, hanem Greensboroban is.
A helyi rendőrség arra kér mindenkit, hogy ne rendeljenek házhoz terméket, ha azt nem tudják személyesen vagy rokonok segítségével átvenni. Ha tehetik, inkább az irodájukba vagy munkahelyükre kérjék a szállítást, ha pedig ez nem lehetséges, akkor kérjenek meg ismerőst, rokont vagy a szomszédot, hogy vegye át a csomagot.

Több tucat terméket távolított el kínálatából az Amazon, miután sportolók doppingolására alkalmas 66 peptideket tartalmazó szert talált a The Markup a vizsgálat során.
A peptideket a szervezet természetes úton állítja elő, de a szintetikus változatait, amelyeket fiolákban lehet vásárolni és befecskendezni, teljesítménynövelő gyógyszerként használják, mivel felgyorsíthatják a sérülések utáni gyógyulást.
A The Markup szerint az elmúlt hetekben az Amazon olyan doppingolásra alkalmas gyógyszereket árult melyek nincsenek az Egyesült Államok Élelmiszer- és Gyógyszerügyi Hivatalának jóváhagyott gyógyszerek listáján.
A Wall Street Journal tavalyi jelentése szerint az Amazon olyan termékeket árusított, egy harmadik félen keresztül, melyeket az amerikai kormányzati szervek betiltottak, mert rosszul címkézték fel, vagy nem biztonságosnak nyilvánítottak azokat.

94 dolláros fogkefék ezreit számlázta ki az Amazonnak négy fivér, hogy egy régimódi trükkel kaszáljanak milliókat – írja a Wired nyomán a Forbes.hu.
A múlt szerdán letartóztatott négyes a túlszállításnak nevezett módszert alkalmazta: ennek lényege, hogy a kereskedő be akar szerezni valamit, amiért fizetne, a beszállító azonban sokkal több dolgot küld, mint amennyit kellene, és persze mindet ki is számlázza. Az Amazon esetében a trükköt úgy alkalmazták, hogy átírták a cég rendelési azonosítója alá tartozó tételeket. Ez azért lehetséges, mert a becsületes kereskedők így ellenőrizhetik, hogy egy adott rendelés alatt tényleg ott van-e a kért áru.
A négy csaló ehelyett mindenféle haszontalan dolgokat küldött az Amazon raktárának.
A vádirat szerint megesett, hogy az Amazon egytucat fertőtlenítőszert igényelt, a 94 dolláros tétel helyett azonban hétezer darab fogkefét kapott, amelyek darabja került pontosan ennyibe – a biznisz eredménye egy 650 ezer dollárt is meghaladó, de persze kiegyenlített számla.
Máskor márkás parfüm volt a rendelés tárgya, a 290 dolláros illatszer helyett azonban 927 darab hajvágó volt a dobozban, amiknek darabja pont 290 dollárba került. A vád szerint az Amazon kevesebb mint száz terméket rendelt a fivérektől, de tízezernél is több jutott el a raktárakba – amikor a cég észlelte a (számukra viszonylag kis összegekben bonyolódó) csalást, letiltotta a csapatot, akik viszont VPN-re csatlakozva vissza-visszajártak folytatni az átverést.
A vád szerint az okozott kár meghaladja a 19 millió dollárt.
Mindez egyébként a Vendor Central nevű viszonteladói felületen történt, amin van ugyan személyi moderálás, de általában algoritmusok intézik az ügyletek nagy részét – ezek miatt eshetett meg, hogy a csalássorozat évekig folyhatott. A vád egyik legfontosabb bizonyítéka egy chatüzenet: a négy elkövető egyike egy zárt WhatsApp-csoportban írta a többieknek még 2018-ban, hogy „ideje átverni az Amazont”. A cég egyébként nem válaszolt a Wired kérdéseire, egyik ügyvédje csak annyit írt: örülnek, hogy hivatalos szervekkel dolgozhatnak együtt az ügyön.
