Greta Thunberg klímaaktivistát kedden Londonban őrizetbe vette a rendőrség, miután a város központjában az olaj- és gázipari vállalatok elleni tüntetésen vett részt.
Greta Thunberget – aki világszerte a fiatal klímaaktivisták arcává vált, miután 2018-ban hetente tüntetéseket rendezett a svéd parlament előtt –, idén már Svédországban, Norvégiában és Németországban is őrizetbe vette a rendőrség, illetve eltávolította a tüntetésekről.
A videofelvételek tanúsága szerint Thunberg Olajos pénz kifelé! feliratú jelvényt viselt, és egy helyben állt, miközben két rendőr beszélt vele. Állóképeken látható, ahogy átkutatják, és egy rendőrségi furgon hátuljába ültetik.

Thunberg a mayfairi Intercontinental Hotel előtt tiltakozott, ahol az Energy Intelligence Forum az olaj- és gázipar vezetőinek találkozóját tartotta. Ő és többtucatnyian mások egymásba karoltak, elzárva a bejáratokat. A rendőrség figyelmeztette a tüntetőket, mielőtt bevonult volna, hogy őrizetbe vegye őket. A hírek szerint húsz letartóztatást hajtottak végre. Thunberg korábban a tüntetésen azt mondta:
„A világ fuldoklik a fosszilis tüzelőanyagoktól. Világszerte emberek szenvednek és halnak meg az ezen iparágak által okozott klímaválság következményei miatt.”
A Greenpeace környezetvédelmi csoport szerint több száz tüntető vett részt a tiltakozásban, megakadályozva a küldöttek belépését a helyszínre. A szervezet szerint két aktivistája felmászott az épületre, és egy óriási transzparenst bontott ki a bejárat fölé, amelyen az állt: „Fizessenek a nagy olajcégek” – írja a Reuters. A lap információi szerint a Gunvor kereskedőház vezérigazgatója, Torbjörn Törnqvist és a Trafigura olajkereskedő cég vezetője, Ben Luckock lemaradt az eseményről az akció miatt.

Egy tüntető megzavarta kedden a Louis Vuitton párizsi divatbemutatóját azzal, hogy a túlzott fogyasztás környezetre gyakorolt hatását elítélő transzparenssel sétált végig a kifutón.
A „túlfogyasztás = kihalás“ feliratú táblával a kezében az Amis de la Terre France, Youth for Climate és Extinction Rebellion nevű szervezetet képviselő nő a modellekkel azonos útvonalon vonult végig, felzúdulást keltve a közönségben.
A tüntetőt a biztonságiak a földre kényszerítették, majd elvezették.

A szervezők szerint a 163 felvonuláson 115 ezren vettek részt, közülük 56 ezren Párizsban, ami valamivel több, mint az előző, március végi klímatüntetésen.
A francia elnök decemberben az úgynevezett polgári klímakonvenció előtt vállalta, hogy kezdeményezi az alkotmány módosítását a klímavédelem érdekében.
A klímakonvenció civil tagjait véletlenszerűen, sorshúzással választották ki 2019-ben hogy tegyenek javaslatokat az éghajlatváltozás okozta kihívásokra adandó válaszokra. A 150 tagú testület szakértők meghallgatásával mintegy nyolc hónapon át ülésezett, és 149, a szakértők által jóváhagyott javaslatot tett a kormányzatnak az úgynevezett „zöld átállás” felgyorsítására.
Az alkotmány megváltoztatásához a parlament két házának is előzetesen jóvá kell hagynia a módosítás szövegét, majd az államfő dönthet arról, hogy népszavazásra vagy pedig parlamenti szavazásra bocsájtja az alkotmánymódosítás kérdését. Ez utóbbi esetben a módosítás elfogadásához a képviselők és a szenátorok együttes ülésén háromötödös többségre van szükség.

Az alkotmánymódosítás szövegét Emmanuel Macron kezdeményezésére márciusban a nemzetgyűlés, ahol a kormánypárt abszolút többséggel rendelkezik, jóváhagyta. A törvénytervezet szerint az alkotmány első cikkelye kimondja, hogy Franciaország „szavatolja a környezeti értékek és a biológiai diverzitás megőrzését, valamint az éghajlatváltozás elleni küzdelmet”.
A jobboldali ellenzéki többségű szenátus azonban a „szavatolja” kifejezést arra hivatkozva kivenné a hétfőn esedékes szavazásán a szövegből, hogy az elsőbbséget adna a környezetvédelemnek más alkotmányos elvekhez képest.
A felsőház ódzkodása miatt lapértesülések szerint Emmanuel Macron már lemondott arról, hogy referendumot írjon ki az alkotmánymódosításról.
Jóllehet az elnöki hivatal vasárnap jelezte, hogy az államfő folytatja a csatát ennek érdekében, a vasárnapi tüntetést meghirdető szakszervezetek, baloldali pártok és környezetvédők szerint a végrehajtó hatalom újabb bizonyítékát adta annak, hogy meghátrál a klímavédelemben.

A tüntetők szerint a nemzetgyűlésben kedden első olvasatban elfogadott klímatörvény is arra utal, hogy a kormány nem eléggé határozott a környezetvédelem terén.
„Azt tudom garantálni, hogy nem mondunk le (az alkotmánymódosításról). A szövegnek végig kell mennie a parlamenti úton, mert csak úgy lehetséges népszavazásra bocsátani, ha a szenátorok és a képviselők megállapodnak benne” – mondta vasárnap Emmanuel Macron Strasbourgban.
