Margaret Ferrier-t, a Skót Nemzeti Párt egykori képviselőjét azzal a váddal állítják bíróság elé az Egyesült Királyságban, hogy Covid-19 tünetekkel utazgatott és látogatott nyilvános helyeket, számolt be a The Guardian.
A nőt azzal vádolják, hogy 2020 szeptemberében Glasgow-ból Londonba tartó útja során szándékosan veszélyeztetett másokat, hogy elkapják a koronavírus-fertőzés akkor, amikor karanténba kellett vonulnia.
Ferrier nem ismeri el bűnösségét. 2019-ben választották meg a Skót Nemzeti Párt képviselőjévé, de miután megvádolták, kizárták a pártból, közölte a hromadske.
A vád szerint a képviselőnő szándékosan tette ki embertársait a „fertőzés, betegség és halál kockázatának” miközben Glasgow-ba és környékére valamint Londonba utazott.
Állítólag három nap alatt a 61 éves nő különböző helyeken járt, többek között szépségszalonban, butikban, templomban, bárban és a parlament épületében. A képviselő valószínűleg a glasgow-i vasútállomáson is volt, és onnan vonattal a londoni Eustoni állomásra utazott.
A bírósági tárgyalás augusztus 15-én lesz és valószínűleg négy-öt napig tart, az előzetes meghallgatást júniusra tűzték ki.

A brit miniszterelnök egy londoni oltóponton járt, itt jelentette be, hogy már legalább egy áldozata van az omikron variánsnak – írja a Sky News. Ezen túl azt is hozzátette, hogy szerinte tévhit, hogy az omikron a koronavírus egy enyhébb változata. A szupermutáns ugyanis gyorsan terjed, ezért arra kér mindenkit, hogy adassa be magának a harmadik vakcinát.
A hétvégén 3137 új fertőzöttet találtak Angliában, közülük 1239 esetében mutatták ki az omikront. Sajid Javid brit egészségügyi miniszter bejelentette, hogy a kórházakban 10 embert is az új variáns szövődményeivel ápolnak.

A britt kormány LMBT-afgánok kimenekítésében segédkezik, az első csoportjuk már meg is érkezett a befogadóállamba.
Ünnepel a brit LMBTQ-közösség, mivel megérkezett országukba a leszbikus, homoszexuális, biszexuális és transznemű afgánok első, 29 fős csoportja. A menekülteknek Nagy-Britannia segített elhagyni Afganisztánt. A csoport a brit külügyminiszter, valamint az LMBTQ-embereket támogató Rainbow Railroad és a Stonewall szervezetek támogatásával érkezett meg az Egyesült Királyságba.
Az elkövetkező hónapokban várhatóan további, Afganisztánból kimenekített LMBTQ-afgánok érkeznek az országba.
Hogy a brit belügy és az LMBTQ-jogvédő szervezetek miként állapították meg, hogy a kimenekítettek a leszbikus, homoszexuális, biszexuális és/vagy transznemű közösség tagjai, arról nem szólnak a hírek.

Miközben a benzinkutak előtt már hatodik napja álltak sorban a sofőrök, a gazdaság és a közszolgáltatások egyre nagyobb részét sújtotta a katasztrófa: iskolabuszokat töröltek, a vérszállítást leállították, ápolók aludtak a kórtermekben, és a londoni fekete taxik egyharmada üres tankkal állt.
A feszültség ismét a tetőfokára hág, az autósok egymást vádolták azzal, hogy átugrották a kígyózó sorokat, vagy túl sok üzemanyagot vittek el, a legutóbbi erőszakos cselekményre pedig tegnap került sor az Essex állambeli Eppingben. A verekedés a forgalomra is kiterjedt, mivel az egyik érintett férfi többször is azt mondta: “Nem volt rá szükséged”, miközben ütötte és rúgta az illetőt, mielőtt más sofőrök szétválasztották őket.
Eközben a benzin iránti kétségbeesés és a kannák hiánya miatt két férfi benzinnel töltött meg egy fekete szemeteszsákkal bélelt vödröt. Az illegális lépés azonban rendkívül veszélyes, mivel az üzemanyag biztosan feloldja a zacskót és idővel valószínűleg megolvasztja a vödröt is, a közösségi média felhasználói pedig azt nem értik, hogy a Shell tulajdonosai miért nem avatkoztak közbe.
És még egy mentőautó is négy órán át ott rekedt, amikor lerobbant – és a mentőautóknak sem volt üzemanyaguk, hogy kisegítsék –, így egy veszélyeztetett beteg nem tudott eljutni az észak-walesi kórházba egy időpontra.
Boris Johnson tegnap este először szólalt fel, az egy hete tartó válság közepette, és arra kérte a csalódott autósokat, hogy maradjanak nyugodtak, mivel a benzinkutaknál országszerte a “vadnyugathoz” hasonlítható erőszakos jelenetek játszódtak le – írja a Daily Mail.

Egész Nagy-Britanniát megdöbbentette az a gyilkosság, amelyről korábban már beszámoltunk. Az ashfordi erdőben találták meg Sarah Everard holttestét, és amint az később kiderült, a 33 éves marketinges nőt a 48 éves Wayne Couzens, a londoni Metropolitan Police-nél egy évtizede áll alkalmazásban rendőr előbb megerőszakolta, majd meggyilkolta.
Az elkövető megpróbált kibújni a felelősségre vonás alól, és letartóztatását követően kórházba is szállították, miután szándékosan fejsérüléseket ejtett magán. Az orvosok ellátták sebeit, majd ezt követően visszaszállították a rendőrségi fogdába.
Nos, a briteknek nem kall attól tartaniuk, hogy Couzens újabb áldozatot szed majd közülük, ugyanis a The Telegraph beszámolója szerint a bíróság életfogytig tartó börtönbüntetésre ítélte, azaz a rácsok mögött fog meghalni. Az ítélethirdetést követően John Apter, az angliai és walesi rendőrség első embere kijelentette, Couzens szégyent hozott az egyenruhájukra.
„A bírósági eljárás során nem nyilatkoztam, de most, hogy Couzenst elítélték, nem hallgathatok tovább. Ez a gyilkos a rendőrség teljes szégyene, és a tette miatt életem végéig szégyellni fogom, hogy ugyanazt az egyenruhát hordtuk. Árnyékot vetett a rendőrségre, megérdemelte, hogy sose szívjon szabad levegőt többé” – állította John Apter.

A The Guardian közölte, ez azt követően történt, hogy egy 21 éves fiú körülbelül 70 ezer cikket töltött le a „fehérek uralmáról”, valamint bombák elkészítéséről szóló utasításokat. Ben John levelet írt, amelyben agresszíven szólalt fel az LMBTQ, a migránsok és a liberálisok ellen.
A brit törvények értelmében a terrorcselekmény előkészítése során hasznos információ tárolásáért maximum 11 év börtönt szabható ki. Az ügy iratai áttekintését követően a bíró úgy ítélte meg, hogy a bűncselekmény a „tinédzser ostobaság”.
„Magányos ember vagy, akinek kevés, ha egyáltalán van igazi barátja” – mondta a bíró, aki szerint „John nagyon könnyen befolyásolható mások által, de nem valószínű, hogy bárkinek ártana”. Hogy elkerülje a hosszú letartóztatást, a brit fiúnak Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare, Thomas Hardy és más klasszikusok műveit kell elolvasnia.
„Január 4-én elmondja nekem, hogy mit olvasott, én pedig leellenőrzöm. Tesztelni fogom önt, és ha úgy döntök, hogy hazudik nekem, akkor büntetést fog kapni” – jelentette ki a bíró.
A bíróság két év felfüggesztett börtönbüntetésre ítélte Ben Johnt. Ha férfi nem felel meg a feltételeknek, akkor ezt az időt a rácsok mögött kell töltenie.

Belső amerikai védelmi források alapján az amerikai katonák a britekre akarják kenni a kabuli terrortámadást.
A Politico beszámolója szerint ugyanis csak azért hagytak nyitva egy kaput a Hamid Karzai Nemzetközi Reptéren, hogy a britek evakuációs misszióját segítsék, és ezen a kapun keresztül juthattak be a terroristák.
Mint írják, Peter Vasely admirális, az afganisztáni amerikai erők parancsnoka személyesen hívta fel a helyszínen dolgozó katonákat, hogy hagyják nyitva az egyik kaput, mert a brit szövetségesek az evakuáción dolgoznak.
Néhány órával később pedig véghez is vitte az Iszlám Állam helyi szervezete a terrortámadást, amelynek következtében 170 afgán civil, 13 amerikai katona és két brit állampolgár is életét vesztette.
Belső kormányforrásokra és konzervatív képviselők véleményére támaszkodva a The Times azonban már azt írja, hogy a britek szerint Washington csak el akarja terelni a felelősséget a saját hibájáról a kialakult helyzet kapcsán.
Később Dominic Raab brit külügyminiszter is elmondta a Sky Newsnak adott interjújában, hogy egyszerűen nem igaz az állítás, hogy a britek miatt kellett nyitva hagyni egy kaput, amelyen beszökhettek az ISIS-K terroristái.
