Banánszállítmány közé rejtett, csaknem 3,5 tonna kokaint foglaltak le Portugáliában – számolt be az Magyar Hírlap a helyi rendőrségre hivatkozva.
A kábítószert a fővárostól, Lisszabontól nagyjából 40 kilométerre délre található Setubal kikötőjében találták meg egy hajó rakterében, banános ládákba rejtve.
A hatóságok szerint az érintett teherhajó rendszeresen szállított zöldséget és gyümölcsöt Latin-Amerikából Európába.
A portugál rendőrség szerint a kábítószert több európai országba szánták. A helyi hatóságok munkáját a brit NCA bűnügyi rendőrség is támogatta.
A portugál rendőrfőkapitány a CNN Portugalnak nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy őrizetbe vételek ugyan egyelőre nem voltak az ügyben, de gőzerővel nyomoznak a kábítószercsempészek után.

Zavargások törtek ki Lisszabon külvárosában, miután rendőrök lelőttek egy színes bőrű férfit, aki szembeszállt a hatóságokkal.
Az erőszakos tüntetők kövekkel dobálták a rendőröket, és megrongáltak két rendőrségi járművet. Két buszt és további kilenc járművet felgyújtottak a rendbontók. Az incidensek Lisszabonban és hét, főváros környéki településen történtek. Három embert őrizetbe vettek – derült ki a portugál rendőrség közleményéből.
Helyi sajtójelentések szerint a zavargásokban hátrányos helyzetű városnegyedekben élő, bevándorló hátterű fiatalok vettek részt. A feszültséget egy, a Zöld-foki Köztársaságból származó, 43 éves férfi halála robbantotta ki. A férfit a hatóságok lőtték agyon vasárnap éjjel, miután szökni próbált és egy szúrófegyverrel rá akart támadni a rendőrökre. Az ügyben a rendőrség fegyelmi vizsgálatot indított.
A rendőrség hivatalos verziója szerint az autóban ülő férfi a rendőrautó közeledését észlelve hirtelen a gázra lépett, majd amikor végül utolérték, ellenállt nekik és hidegfegyvert rántott elő.
Az a verzió terjedt el a lakosság körében, hogy valójában a férfinál nem volt fegyver, és indokolatlanul lőtték le.
A Belügyminisztérium elrendelte az eset alapos kivizsgálását és az összes körülmény feltárását. A fegyvert használó rendőr bíróság elé állhat.

Ahogyan arról a napokban beszámoltunk, országszerte erdőtüzek pusztítanak Portugáliában. Már az EU-tól kértek segítséget, mert egyedül nem tudnak megbirkózni a katasztrófával. A délnyugat-európai ország különböző pontjain tomboló tüzek legalább hét ember életét követelték, mindemellett házak, gyárak és több tízezer hektár erdőség vált a lángok martalékává – tájékoztatott az MTI.
Mint írták, 14 személyt vett őrizetbe a héten a portugál rendőrség, akiket erdőtüzek okozásával gyanúsítanak.
A kormányfő kemény fellépést ígért „az egyéni érdekekből elkövetett” ilyen jellegű bűncselekményekkel szemben.
Komoly erdőtűz volt nemrég Vas vármegyében. A celldömölki tűzoltók megrázó részletességgel beszéltek a kenyeri, csöngei tűznél szerzett tapasztalataikról.

Luís Montenegro portugál miniszterelnök rendkívüli állapotot hirdetett az erdőtüzek által leginkább sújtott régiókban.
Montenegro sürgette a rendőrséget, hogy duplázzák meg erőfeszítéseiket a tüzeket okozók felkutatására, és ígéretet tettek arra, hogy segítik az otthonukat elvesztő vagy elhagyni kényszerülteket.
Portugália északi és középső részén mintegy negyven erdőtűz pusztít a térséget több napja sújtó hőség és a szél által gerjesztve, legalább hét ember életét vesztette.
A helyi katasztrófavédelmi hatóság a honlapján 42 aktív tüzet sorol fel, mintegy 3900 tűzoltót mozgósítottak, őket több mint ezer jármű támogatja. A helyi média szerint kedd este további evakuálásokat kellett végrehajtani a Porto régióban (északon) fekvő Gondomar településen, míg a tűzoltók ellenőrizhetetlen helyzetről számoltak be az Aveiro körzetben lévő Arouca településen, a tűz által leginkább sújtott területen.
Ez utóbbi régióban mintegy 20 ezer hektárnyi növényzet égett le hétfő óta – derül ki az Európai erdőtűz-információs rendszer (EFFIS) adataiból, amely mintegy tizenöt másik, 1000 hektárnál nagyobb területet felemésztő tűzvészt sorol fel szerte az országban.
Aveiro térségében egy négy tűzből álló, mintegy száz kilométeres körzetet alkotó tűzcsoport több frontja a tűzoltók erőfeszítéseinek köszönhetően az ellenőrzés határán áll – közölték a hatóságok kedd este.
Három tűzoltó meghalt kedden, amikor a lángok csapdájába estek a Coimbra régióban található Tabua közelében, így a halálos áldozatok száma hétre emelkedett, és mintegy ötvenen megsérültek eddig.
A többi áldozat között van egy 28 éves brazil, aki egy erdészeti vállalat alkalmazottja volt, és hétfőn vesztette életét, miközben szerszámokat próbált visszaszerezni; két ember, aki szívinfarktusban halt meg, valamint egy önkéntes tűzoltó, aki vasárnap halt bele hirtelen rosszullétbe egy művelet közben.

Hét ember meghalt és több mint ötvenen megsérültek a Portugália középső és északi részén pusztító erdőtüzekben – közölték a helyi hatóságok, miután kedden három tűzoltó életét vesztette, amikor járművükkel Nelas közelében a lángok között rekedtek.
A hatóságok szerint eddig összesen 20 ezer hektáron harapództak el a lángok, és két vasútvonalon, illetve több autópályán is lezárásokra volt szükség, köztük a Lisszabon és Porto közötti autópálya egy részén is. Luís Montenegro, Portugália miniszterelnöke, aki a kialakult helyzet miatt lemondta keddi programjait, hangsúlyozta: országa nagyon nehéz napok elé néz, az erdőtüzek miatt kihirdetett veszélyhelyzetet pedig csütörtökig meghosszabbították.
Ugyan év elején és nyáron is sok csapadék esett, így Portugáliába kevesebb erdőtűz volt, mint tavaly, de a hétvégén a 30 Celsius-fok feletti hőmérséklet a rendkívül alacsony páratartalommal és az erős széllel társulva kedvezett a tüzek kialakulásának. Beszámolók szerint csak Aveiro környékén több mint 10 ezer hektárnyi erdőt és bozótost emésztettek fel a lángok két nap alatt, ami nagyjából megegyezik azzal, mintha összeadjuk, hogy idén egész országban mekkora területen pusztítottak erdőtüzek.
A Guardian szerint Portugáliában összesen 5300 tűzoltót mozgósítottak, Franciaország, Olaszország és Spanyolország pedig nyolc, vízzel oltani képes repülőgépet küldött segítségképpen. Hozzátették, miután a 2017-es erdőtüzek 64 emberéletet követeltek, a portugál kormány tízszeresére növelte a tűzmegelőzésre szánt forrásokat, és megduplázta a tűzoltásra szánt költségvetést.

Egy tizenkét éves lányt komoly, de nem életveszélyes sérülésekkel kórházba kellett szállítani. A fővárostól, Lisszabontól mintegy 50 kilométerre északkeletre található településen történtek hátterét egyelőre homály fedi.
A fiatalkorú elkövető a déli szünetet követően visszatért az iskolába, és látszólag válogatás nélkül támadt rá diáktársaira – ismertette Silvino Lúcio azambujai polgármester. A tinédzsert, aki golyóálló mellényt viselt, egy iskolai alkalmazott fékezte meg. A fiút a rendőrség kiérkezéséig iskolai alkalmazottak fogták le.
A polgármester szerint öt lány és egy fiú sebesült meg, akik mindannyian vágási sérüléseket szenvedtek végtagjaikon. Jelenleg az áldozatokat és az elkövetőt is pszichológusok gondozzák. Az elkövető rendőrségi őrizetben van és kikérdezik.
Luís Montenegro portugál miniszterelnök a lehető leghatározottabban elítélte a történteket. Az X-en tett bejegyzésében „elszigetelt incidensről” tett említést, illetve „a portugál társadalomtól távoli jelenségről, amelynek azonban a közszereplőket felelősségteljes elmélkedésre kell hogy rábírja” – írja az MTI.

Hétfőn kora reggel az Atlanti-óceánon, Lisszabontól délre, 5,5-ös erősségű földrengést regisztráltak a Richter-skálán. A földmozgást Marokkóban és Andalúzia több területén is érezni lehetett.
Földrengés volt Porugáliában, Lisszabontól délre helyi idő szerint hétfőn 5 óra 11 perckor, 19 kilométeres mélységben. A Richter-skála szerinti 5,5-ös erősségű földmozgást többek között Marokkóban, Huelvában és Sevillában is érezték az emberek – írja a spanyol abc.es hírportál.
Anyagi károkról és sérültekről egyelőre nem érkezett bejelentés. Egy lisszaboni lakos szerint körülbelül 3-5 másodpercig érezte a rengéseket.
A BNO News arról írt, hogy a szeizmológusok szerint a hétfői volt az elmúlt 15 év legerősebb földrengése a régióban.
Portgália déli partjainál legutóbb 2009 mértek a Richter-skála szerinti 5,6-os erősségű földrengést. Az egyik legnagyobb katasztrófa 1755-ben történt, amikor egy erős földrengés 50 ezer ember halálát okozta.

Életét vesztette egy spanyol pilóta vasárnap egy portugál légibemutatón, miután gépe összeütközött egy másik repülővel – közölte vasárnap a portugál légierő.
A szerencsétlenség a Beja városában található légitámaszponton történt.
A spanyol pilóta gépe lezuhant és a földnek csapódva kigyulladt.
A légibemutatót szervező portugál légierő arról számolt be, hogy a két, balesetet szenvedett gép a YAK STARS nevű műrepülő csoporthoz tartozott.
A YAK STARS, amely portugál és spanyol pilótákat egyaránt alkalmaz soraiban, a portugál légierő szerint „a legnagyobb civil műrepülő csoport Európa déli részén” Patricia Fernandes százados az RTP helyi műsorszolgáltatónak nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy a balesetben érintett másik gép pilótája megsebesült.
A Portugália legnagyobb légi bemutatójának számító Beja AirShow-t a baleset után nem folytatták.

Óriási mennyiségű kokainszállítmányra csapott le a portugál rendőrség, az ügyben több embert letartóztattak.
A portugál hatóságok lefoglaltak 1,3 tonnányi, fagyasztott halakba rejtett kokaint, majd hét embert tartóztattak le.
A rendőrség a Latin-Amerikával folytatott kábítószer-kereskedelemben részt vevő európai bűnszervezetek felszámolására indított akció keretei közt tartóztatta le a bűnözőket.
Az Ecuadorból érkező drogszállítmányra a Lisszabon északi részén lévő kikötői raktárban találtak rá.
„A módszer, ahogyan a kábítószert a fagyasztott halakba rejtették, rendkívül megnehezítette a drog észlelését, a kivételéhez pedig muszáj volt a halakat teljesen megsemmisíteni” – közölte a rendőrség.
Az őrizetbe vett – 26 és 59 év közötti – gyanúsítottakat a kábítószer behozataláért és terjesztéséért is felelősnek tartják, mindegyikük más nemzetiségű. A rendőrség szerint egy olyan szervezett bűnözői hálózathoz tartoznak, amely Latin-Amerikából érkező kábítószerek szállítását és értékesítését végzi számos európai országban.
A rajtaütésnél nyolc lőfegyvert, drága gépjárműveket, valamint az üggyel kapcsolatos fontos dokumentumokat is lefoglalt a rendőrség.
