A kábítószert tartalmazó, mintegy hetven, nagyobb méretű csomagot háló fogta össze: a szállítmányt vízhatlan réteg borította, és bóják biztosították, hogy ne süllyedjen el. A hatósági becslés szerint a piacon mintegy 400 millió eurót érő drogszállítmányt a pénzügyőrség légi járőregységei azonosították a hálókra rögzített fényjelzőket észlelve a tengeren.



A hatóságok közlése szerint a drogot egy teherhajóról eresztették vízre, és a part közelében az olasz szervezett bűnözés halászta volna ki, de a pénzügyőrség gyorsabbnak bizonyult.

Legalább négy ember életét vesztette, és rengetegen eltűntek az olaszországi Szicíliábag‘n történt épületomlásban, miután szombaton egy gázrobbanás következtében több épület is leomlott Ravanusa városában.



Az AFP arról számolt be, hogy a helyi katasztrófavédelmi hatóságok és a szicíliai polgári mentőszolgálat reggel, nem sokkal az összeomlás után egy holttestet húzott ki a romok alól, valamint két túlélőt kisebb sérülésekkel kimentettek a helyszínről.



A hatóságok korábban nyolc ember eltűnését jelentették, köztük két gyermek és egy terhes nő is volt, azonban egyelőre nem tudni, hogy ők az eltűntek között vannak-e. A gázrobbanás szombaton este fél 9 körül történt, melynek következtében több épület is összeomlott, három másik pedig megrongálódott.



Helyi tisztviselők szerint a gázrobbanás azután következett be, hogy a gáz nagy mértékben szivárgott a föld alá, kiterjedtsége miatt pedig hatalmas robbanás következett be. A város polgármestere a közösségi médiában kérte a lakosságot, hogy aki bármilyen segítséget tud nyújtani, menjen ki a helyszínre és segítsen a túlélők felkutatásában.

A helyszínen készült felvételeken a lángoló romokat és széles körben szétszóródott törmeléket lehetett látni. A tűzoltóság nagy erőkkel vonult ki a helyszínre és sikerült időközben visszaszorítania a lángokat. A hatóságok megkezdték a keresést az eltűntek, illetve az esetleges áldozatok után. A robbanásban két szomszédos épület is megrongálódott a település központjában.



A hatóságok friss közlése alapján legkevesebb két halálos áldozata van már bizonyosan a szombat esti házomlásnak a szicíliai Ravanusa faluban, és hét embert tartanak számon eltűntként.



Eddig egy férfi és egy nő holttestét találták meg és hozták ki a romok közül.

A csütörtöki nap folyamán például Szicíliára csaptak le olyan heves esőzések, hogy beszakadt egy út, elnyelve számos autót – írja az Euronews.



Az eset Sciacca városában történt és egyáltalán nem volt veszélytelen, ugyanis közvetlenül emeletes lakóházak mellett alakult ki egy víznyelő az út közepén.

Tűz ütött ki vasárnap este a szicíliai Pozzallo városának menekültügyi központjában, mert egyes migránsok matracokat és más éghető berendezési tárgyakat felgyújtottak – számolt be az olasz sajtó nyomán az MTI.







A létesítményből sűrű füstöt lehetett látni, több tucat tunéziai menedékkérő elmenekült a lángoló központból, értesülések szerint százhúsz migránst, köztük húsz fiatalt sikerült biztonságba helyezni.



Roberto Ammatuna, Pozzallo polgármestere a történtek nyomán felhívást intézett a rendőrséghez, hogy mielőbb megoldást találjanak a tunéziai migránsok jelentette problémára, akik nem tartják magukat a létesítményben a koronavírus járványa miatt kötelezővé tett karanténhoz.









Olaszország újabb migrációs hullámmal kénytelen szembesülni. Az olasz belügyminisztérium adatai szerint az idén eddig 24 622 illegális bevándorló érte el az olasz partokat, a tavalyi év azonos időszakában számuk 9764 volt. A legtöbb menedékkérő Líbia, illetve Tunézia érintésével a Földközi-tengeren keresztül éri el Olaszországot, és ezzel az Európai Unió területét. Mindemellett a tunéziaiak gazdasági bevándorlónak számítanak.

A legdurvább helyzet Palermóban volt, a neten terjedő videókon és fotókon az utakat elöntő vízben hömpölygő autókat látni. A hírek szerint legalább ketten meghaltak, ők az autójukba beömlő vízben fulladtak meg. Az embereknek az aluljárókban rekedt autóikból kellett kiúszniuk.
