Emberek százai várták az iskolában, hogy fejenként nagyjából 9 dollárnyi (kb. 3100 forint) támogatást vehessenek át. A hútik által vezetett belügyminisztérium szerint a katasztrófa „a helyi hatóságokkal való egyeztetés nélküli, véletlenszerű pénzosztás” miatt történt. A hútik információi szerint legalább 85 halálos áldozata és 322 sérültje van a tömeg összezördülésének.
Helyi szemtanúk arról számoltak be, hogy a hútik azzal próbálták kezelni a helyzetet, hogy a levegőbe lőttek, hátha uralni tudják így a tömeget: a lövéssel azonban egy elektromos vezetéket találtak el, amely leszakadt. Az emberek ezután pánikolni kezdtek, megpróbáltak kirohanni. A hútik belügyminisztériuma jelezte, őrizetbe vettek két szervezőt, nyomozás folyik.
Jemenben 2014 óta dúl eddig már több mint tízezer áldozattal járó polgárháború a lázadó, iráni támogatást élvező hútik és a nemzetközileg elismert kormány között. A harcok láthatóan enyhültek tavaly óta, az ENSZ beavatkozásával levezényelt hat hónapos fegyverszünet óta, még úgy is, hogy ez októberben lejárt. A háború azonban az országban az ENSZ szerint „a világ egyik legrosszabb humanitárius helyzetéhez” vezetett: a lakosság több mint kétharmada él a szegénységi küszöb alatt, a hútik által átvett területeken a közalkalmazottak például évek óta nem kapnak köztisztviselői fizetést.

Tizenegymillió gyerek szorul humanitárius segélyekre a polgárháború sújtotta Jemenben az ENSZ Gyermekalapjának (UNICEF) pénteki bejelentése szerint.
A szervezet arra figyelmeztetett, hogy mintegy 2,2 millió jemeni gyerek alultáplált, a helyzet pedig azonnali beavatkozás nélkül tovább súlyosbodhat.
Az alultápláltság már több mint 450 ezer gyerek esetében öltött életveszélyes méreteket, nekik sürgős segítségre van szükségük – tette hozzá az UNICEF. A szervezet emellett rámutatott arra, hogy a harcoknak 2015 és 2022 között több mint 11 ezer gyerek vált áldozatává.
A polgárháború és a nyomában kialakult humanitárius válság miatt egyre több gyerek kényszerül dolgozni és nőtt a gyerekházasságok száma is, sok család ugyanis csak így tudja biztosítani megélhetését. Egyre több kiskorút toboroznak emellett a hadseregbe és milíciákba is – áll a szervezet tájékoztatásában.
Az UNICEF-nek körülbelül 484 millió dollárra van szüksége ahhoz, hogy idén is folytatni tudja a gyerekekkel kapcsolatos humanitárius programjait Jemenben.

Jemenben 2015 óta polgárháború zajlik. A harcok újra előhozták az északi és a déli országrész ellentétét. A déli fegyveres csoportok ragaszkodnak az 1990 előtti állapothoz, azaz különálló és független Észak-, illetve Dél-Jemenre kívánják felosztani az országot. Most háromnapos tűzszünetet hirdettek a húszi lázadók.
A síita húszi lázadók a kormányerőket támogató, Szaúd-Arábia vezette arab katonai koalíció ellen harcolnak, de szombaton a háromnapos tűzszünet mellett a tartós fegyvernyugvást is kilátásba helyezték.
Mahdi al-Maszat a húszik legfelsőbb politikai tanácsának elnöke szerint ennek feltétele, hogy Szaúd-Arábia kötelezettséget vállal az ostrom feloldására, és végleg leállítja támadásait Jemen ellen.
Rijád egyelőre nem reagált az ajánlatra.
A bejelentést azt követően tették, hogy pénteken az Irán támogatását élvező felkelők több csapást is mértek Szaúd-Arábia területe ellen.
Az egyik célpont a Saudi Aramco nevű szaúdi állami olajvállalat dzsiddai elosztóközpontja volt, néhány kilométerre a formula-1-es nagydíjnak otthont adó dzsiddai versenypályától. A létesítmény két tartályát találat érte, de a vállalat szerint személyi sérülés nem volt.
A szaúdi vezetésű arab koalíció szombat hajnalban válaszul katonai műveletet indított Jemenben olajlétesítményei és a „globális energiaforrások” védelme érdekében.
A koalíció szerint a húsziknak „viselniük kell tetteik következményeit”. A szaúdi állami média jelentése szerint a koalíció felszólította a civil lakosságot, hogy tartsa magát távol olajlétesítményektől a jemeni Hudajda tartományban. A koalíció harci gépei a hudajdai kikötő környékét és Szanaát támadták.
Szaúd-Arábia arab szövetségeseivel együtt 2015-ben avatkozott be a jemeni polgárháborúba a nemzetközileg elismert kormány oldalán, miután a húszik lerohanták a fővárost, és elüldözték az országból a kabinetet, amely most Szaúd-Arábiában működik.

Nagy mennyiségű gépkarabélyt és lőszert foglalt le az amerikai haditengerészet az Arab-tengeren egy halászhajón, amely valószínűleg a polgárháborús Jemenbe akarta csempészni a hadianyagot – közölte szerdán az amerikai haditengerészet Bahreinben állomásozó Ötödik Flottája.
A közlemény szerint a felségjel nélküli hajóra egy hétfőn kezdődött, az ománi és a pakisztáni partoknál zajló járőrözéskor csaptak le, és mintegy 1400 Kalasnyikov-gépkarabélyt és 226 600 lőszert foglaltak le.
A hajón öttagú jemeni legénység tartózkodott.
A közleményben azt írták, hogy a fegyvereket és lőszert Irán küldte a nemzetközileg elismert jemeni kormány ellen harcoló húsziknak, hozzátéve, hogy a lázadóknak nyújtott fegyveres támogatás megsérti az ENSZ Biztonsági Tanácsának vonatkozó határozatait és az amerikai szankciókat is.
Jemen rosszul őrzött kikötőibe évek óta csempésznek fegyvereket.
A nyugati országok és ENSZ-szakértők szerint Irán látja el fegyverekkel a húszikat, ezt azonban Teherán többször tagadta.
Az ötödik flotta azt is közölte, hogy idén több mint 8700 fegyvert foglalt le az általa ellenőrzött 2,5 millió négyzetmérföldes területen, beleértve a stratégiai fontosságú Vörös-tengert és a Perzsa(Arab)-öböl térségét is.Jemenben 2014 augusztusa óta dúl polgárháború az Irán által támogatott húszi síita felkelők és a rijádi száműzetésben élő Abed Rabbó Manszúr Hádi jemeni elnökhöz hű erők között. Utóbbiakat 2015 óta támogatja a Szaúd-Arábia által vezetett koalíció.

A jemeni polgárháborúban Szaúd-Arábia és a központi jemeni hadsereg egy oldalon harcol a húszi lázadók ellen, a katonaság azonban mégis dróntámadást hajtott végre több szaúdi célpont ellen is – írja a The Cradle.
Még november 19-én a jemeni hadsereg ugyanis többek között a dzsiddai King Abdulaziz Nemzetközi Repülőtér és az Abba Nemzetközi Reptér közelében található katonai bázisokat is megtámadta, valamint a szintén Dzsiddában található egyik, az állami Aramco olajcéghez tartozó finomítót.
A jemeniek a folyamatos szaúdi katonai offenzívákkal indokolták a támadás szükségességét, elmondásuk szerint elegük van a szaúdiak folyamatos „ostromából”. Mint mondták, ennek már honvédelmi és polgárvédelmi okai is voltak.
A jemeni fél azt is jelezte, hogy egészen addig folytatni fogják a támadásokat, ameddig a szaúdi hadsereg nem hagy fel a jemeni portyázásával és az ostrommal. Hasonló üzenetet küldtek az Egyesült Arab Emírségeknek is, noha ellenük nem vittek véghez támadást.
Ezek az események pedig azért is aggasztóak, mert éppen Dzsiddában két hét múlva Forma-1-es hétvégét fognak rendezni, az F1 története során először látogatnak Szaúd-Arábiába. A vészjósló fejlemények azonban veszélybe sodorhatják a pilóták biztonságát.

A TASZSZ orosz hírügynökség információi szerint a robbanás az ádeni nemzetközi repülőtér külső kapujánál történt. Legalább tíz ember meghalt a támadásban.
A Yemen Al Ghad hivatalos forrásokra hivatkozva azt írja, hogy a támadás a repülőtér külső kapuját célozta meg. A detonáció egy szálloda előtt történt.

A rakétát a húszi lázadók lőtték ki a kormányerők ellenőrzése alatt álló tengerparti városra. A hadsereg 2018-ban, több évig tartó harcok árán foglalta vissza a várost a lázadóktól.

Legkevesebb 30 katona meghalt, sokan megsebesültek vasárnap Jemen déli részén, miután rakéta- és dróntámadás érte a jemeni hadsereg légi támaszpontját – közölte a Mandiner katonai forrásra hivatozva.
A beszámolók szerint rakéta csapódott be az Áden kikötővárostól 70 kilométernyire északra fekvő el-Anád légibázis gyakorlóterén, miközben a katonák reggeli gyakorlatukat végezték. Egyes hírek szerint nemcsak egy vagy több rakéta, hanem robbanószerrel megrakott drónok is becsapódtak a támaszpont területén.
A támadást egyértelműen a síita húszi lázadók számlájára írják. A húszik, akik régóta harcban állnak a jemeni kormány oldalán harcoló, szaúdi vezetésű nemzetközi koalícióval, korábban is támadták már ezt a légibázist.
Előzmények
A szaúdiak vezette katonai koalíció 2015-ben avatkozott be a jemeni polgárháborúba, és a kormány oldalán harcol a húszi lázadók ellen, akik rendszeresen indítanak rakéta- és dróntámadásokat a jemeni hadsereg állásai és szaúdi célpontok ellen azóta, hogy 2014 szeptemberében elfoglalták a jemeni fővárost, Szanaát.
Nyugati szakértők egyetértenek abban, hogy a húszikat Irán látja el fegyverrel. Teherán annak ellenére is tagadja ezt, hogy a lázadók által bevetett számos harci eszközről bebizonyosodott, hogy Iránból származik.
A vasárnapi támadást nem sokkal azután hajtották végre, hogy megfeneklettek a fegyverszüneti tárgyalások a húszik és a szaúdi vezetésű koalíció között. A lázadók azt szerették volna elérni, hogy megszűnjön az ellenőrzésük alatt álló kikötőket és a szanaai repteret sújtó blokád cserébe azért, hogy felfüggesztik a támadásokat.
A 2014-ben kirobbant jemeni polgárháborúban több mint százezren vesztették életüket, és milliók váltak földönfutóvá. Jemenben a világ jelenlegi legsúlyosabb humanitárius válsága alakult ki.

A jemeni Lahj tartományban élő halászok az AFP hírügynökségnek elmondták, hogy már 25 holttestet találtak a vízben Ras al-Ara közelében. Egy tartományi tisztviselő szerint a 160-200 emberrel a fedélzetén két nappal ezelőtt felborult egy csónak a térségben.
A Nemzetközi Migrációs Szervezet (IOM) közölte, hogy ellenőrzi azokat a jelentéseket, amelyek szerint egy nagyszámú bevándorlót szállító hajó elsüllyedt.
“Az IOM csapatai a helyszínen vannak, és készen állnak a túlélők szükségleteinek kielégítésére” – írta a Twitteren.
Egy jemeni hírportál, az Aden al-Ghad eközben forrásokra hivatkozva azt állította, hogy akár 150 bevándorló is vízbe fulladhatott. Ras al-Ara egy embercsempészek által használt partszakasz, amely közvetlenül a Bab al-Mandab-szorostól keletre fekszik, amely egy 20 km széles vízi út, mely elválasztja Jement és Dzsibutit, és összeköti a Vörös-tengert az Ádeni-öböllel.
Az elmúlt években Afrikából több százezer bevándorló – főként etiópiaiak és szomáliaiak – kelt át a vízi úton Jemenbe, hogy megpróbáljanak eljutni a szomszédos Szaúd-Arábiába. Az embercsempészek csónakjai közül a legtöbb túlzsúfolt és nem biztonságos, így az utazás masszív veszélyeket rejt magában.
Jemenben – ahol immár hatodik éve tart a polgárháború – az IOM szerint sok bevándorlót napokig vagy akár hónapokig tartanak fogva az embercsempészek, amíg a családjuk nem fizeti ki a váltságdíjat. A Jemenbe érkező bevándorlók száma a koronavírus-járvány kezdete óta csökkent: idén eddig 5100-an érkeztek, míg 2020-ban 35 ezren, 2019-ben pedig 127 ezren.
Ugyanakkor több mint 32 ezer bevándorló rekedt az országban, mivel a Szaúd-Arábia felé vezető határ le van zárva, és kevés esélyük van a munkára. Jemenben továbbra is pusztít a konfliktus, amely 2015-ben eszkalálódott, amikor a lázadó húszi mozgalom átvette az ország nagy részei feletti ellenőrzést, és a szaúdi vezetésű arab államok koalíciója katonai műveletet indított Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi elnök uralmának visszaállítására.
A harcok a jelentések szerint több mint 110 ezer ember halálát okozták, és az ENSZ szerint a világ legsúlyosabb humanitárius válságát idézték elő: 12 millió ember szorul élelmiszersegélyre, és az öt év alatti gyermekek fele alultáplált – írja a BBC.
